Extended Glasgow Outcome Scale Questionnaire

**Definition:** A standardized rating scale originally developed by Jennett and Bondin in 1975 and later modified by Wilson et al in 1998, which is used to assess outcome after, and level of function in major life areas with head injury and non-traumatic acute brain insults. The questionnaire contains 23 items and generates 7 subscales: consciousness, independence in the home, independence outside the home, work, social and leisure activities, family and friendships, and epilepsy.
