**Definition:** An adenocarcinoma cell line established from a 51 year old male patient with lung carcinoma. The cell sample was removed prior to any treatment for the carcinoma. NCI-H23 cells have mutations at the amino acid position 12 of GTPase KRas (K-ras) and in codon 246 of the p53 (TP53) gene.
