Olendalizumab

**Definition:** A humanized monoclonal antibody directed against the complement protein C5a, with potential immunomodulating and anti-inflammatory activities. Upon administration, olendalizumab targets and binds to C5a. This prevents the binding of C5a to its receptor C5a receptor (C5aR) and prevents C5a/C5aR-mediated pro-inflammatory signaling, thereby reducing inflammation and tissue and organ damage. C5a, a factor in the complement cascade, plays important roles in inflammation and immunity.
