Superficial Acral Fibromyxoma
**Semantic type:** Neoplastic Process
**Definition:** A benign fibroblastic neoplasm that arises from acral sites, usually the periungual area of the digits. It is characterized by the proliferation of spindled and stellate-shaped fibroblasts in the dermis in a myxoid or collagenous stroma. Nuclear atypia is usually minimal. It usually presents as a solitary and slow-growing dome-shaped mass on a digit. The recurrence rate is low.
