Atopobium vaginae

**Definition:** A species of facultative anaerobic, Gram-positive, rod-shaped or elliptical coccobacillus in the family Coriobacteriaceae. It is commonly isolated from women with bacterial vaginosis and it is implicated in treatment failures.
