Bacteroides xylanisolvens

**Semantic type:** Bacterium

**Definition:** A species of a Gram-negative, anaerobic, rod-shaped bacterium in the family Bacteroidaceae. B. xylanisolvens is positive for degradation of xylan but negative for degradation of starch. It was isolated from human fecal samples.
