Borrelia miyamotoi

**Definition:** A species of Gram-negative, anaerobic, spiral-shaped bacteria in the family Spirochaetaceae. B. miyamotoi can be transferred to humans through the bite of an infected tick and is the causative agent of Borrelia miyamotoi disease, a relapsing fever.
