Chrysosporium

**Definition:** A genus of of hyaline hyphomycetes fungi in the family Onygenaceae characterized by the production of solitary, hyaline, smooth walled aleurioconidia. Although they are rarely encountered in human skin infections, Chrysosporium species have been identified as an emerging infectious agent in North American snakes.
