Enterocytozoon

**Definition:** A genus of microsporidian fungi in the family Enterocytozoonidae. Members of the genus are obligate intracellular parasites, infectibg intestinal epithelial cells. Cases of intestinal microsporidiosis due to Enterocytozoon are sometimes seen in immunocompromised individuals.
