Geomyces

**Definition:** Either of two genera of filamentous fungi in the phylum Ascomycota that are characterized by conidiophores bearing branched clusters of small oval- or pear-shaped arthroconidia. Geomyces destructans is the causative agent of white-nose syndrome in hibernating bats.
