Paint Thinner

**Definition:** Any of the solvents used to thin oil-based paints or clean up after their use. These include mineral spirits, acetone, mineral turpentine, true turpentine, naphtha, toluene, methyl ethyl ketone, dimethylformamide, 2-butoxyethanol, ethylbenzene, xylene, n-butyl acetate, and butan-1-ol. Exposure to paint thinner vapors may be hazardous.
