Imaging Transcranial Doppler Ultrasonography

**Definition:** A diagnostic technique that uses pulsed Doppler ultrasound to both identify blood vessels in the brain and measure the velocity of blood flow through those vessels. It allows a more accurate estimation of stroke risk because it allows outlining of parenchymal structures and visualization of the examined vessels.
