Pseudomonas nitroreducens

**Definition:** A species of gram-negative, motile, non-spore-forming, rod-shaped, aerobic soil bacteria in the family Pseudomonadaceae first isolated from oil brine in Japan. P. nitroreducens is negative for beta-galactosidase and hydrolysis of gelatin.
