**Definition:** A gram negative, rod shaped, non-motile serotype of the bacteria genus Salmonella, species Salmonella enterica, subspecies enterica. Salmonella Pullorum, one of two poultry-adapted strains of Salmonella bacteria, causes Pullorum disease almost exclusively in young chickens.
