**Definition:** A standardized rating scale developed and modified by Ridker et al in 2007 and 2008, which is a classification system used to estimate the 10-year risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). This estimation takes into consideration of an individual's sex, age, smoking and CVD family histories, as well as systolic blood pressure, high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), total cholesterol and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol levels.
