Enterochromaffin-Like Cell

**Definition:** A type of enteroendocrine cell located in the oxyntic glands of the stomach that releases histamine in regulation of acid secretion. It is morphologically similar to enterochromaffin cells, but lacks an affinity to binding silver salts.
