Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense

**Definition:** A species of parasitic flagellate protozoa in the order Kinetoplastida. T. b. rhodesiense is transmitted by the tsetse fly and causes East African trypanosomiasis. Wild game animals are the main reservoir of T. b. rhodesiense.
