Antigen Presenting Cell
**Semantic type:** Cell
**Definition:** A cell that enables a T-lymphocyte to recognize an antigen by engulfing the antigen, breaking down the antigen into smaller fragments which bind to MHC molecules on the surface of the antigen presenting cell. The T-lymphocyte can now recognize and bind with the MHC-linked antigen.
