**Definition:** A cytosine derived nucleotide comprised of three phosphate groups esterified to the deoxyribose sugar moiety. Nucleotide metabolism is upregulated in cancer cells; therefore, this nucleotide could be used as a biomarker to detect the presence of cancer cells.
