**Definition:** A genus of filamentous fungi that are found in soil and on decaying vegetation in tropical and subtropical regions. The genus can be identified by its sporangiophores, having a distinctive funnel or bell-shaped apophyses and hemispherical-shaped columellae. Species in this genus are resistant to cycloheximide.
