Nocardia cyriacigeorgica

**Definition:** A species of Gram-positive, catalase-positive, rod-shaped bacteria in the phylum Actinobacteria. This species is positive for use of acetate, gluconate, and sucrose as sole carbon sources and acetamide as a sole source of carbon and nitrogen. It was isolated from the bronchial secretion of a patient with chronic bronchitis and is seen as an emerging human pathogen.
