GAIA Level 4 Low Birth Weight

**Definition:** GAIA Level 4 Low Birth Weight is defined by either one of the following two criteria: first, the newborn's weight is assessed between 1 and 2 days of age (first 48 hrs of life); AND second, a proxy measure of birth weight is used, AND the weight category is assessed as less than 2500 grams.
