Pegteograstim

**Semantic type:** Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** An analogue of pegfilgrastim, a recombinant, pegylated form of endogenous human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), with hematopoietic activity. Similar to endogenous G-CSF, this agent binds to and activates specific cell surface receptors, and stimulates neutrophil progenitor proliferation, differentiation and selected neutrophil functions. Pegteograstim may prevent and shorten the duration of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia (CIN). Pegylation of teograstim increases the half-life of this agent.

**Synonyms:** - Neurapeg - PEGTEOGRASTIM
