Fructose-Bisphosphate Aldolase
**Semantic type:** Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein|Enzyme
**Definition:** A family of enzymes that catalyzes interconversion between aldol phosphates and triose phosphates, the primary reaction for these enzymes is the reversible conversion of fructose 1,6-bisphosphate into dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) and glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate (G3P). Glycolysis uses the forward reaction while gluconeogenesis uses the reverse reaction.
