Autologous Monocytes

**Definition:** A preparation of autologous monocytes, with potential immunomodulating activity. Following isolation and administration, the autologous monocytes may differentiate into classic M1 macrophages, which are able to directly attack and kill tumor cells. The stimulated monocytes also promote natural killer (NK) cell differentiation, which further enhances tumor cell killing through NK-mediated cytotoxicity.
