Alpha-Beta T-Cell Depletion

**Definition:** Restriction of the T-cell population in stem cell transplants to those expressing only the gamma-delta receptor. Alpha-beta receptors are expressed on the majority of peripheral blood T-cells and are the primary mediators of graft versus host disease.
