Copper Chloride Formulation

**Definition:** A formulation containing the compound copper chloride (CuCl2), that can potentially be used to enhance Cu levels in cancer cells in order to elevate the antitumor activity of chemotherapeutic agents that are dependent on Cu for their activity. Upon intravenous administration of CuCl2, the mineral Cu is selectively taken up by and accumulates in cancer cells. In the presence of certain chemotherapeutic agents whose mechanism of action (MoA) is dependent on Cu, this formulation may enhance their cytotoxic activity.
