**Definition:** A finding about one or more characteristics of colorectal cancer, following the rules of the TNM AJCC v8 classification system. Adenocarcinomas, high-grade neuroendocrine carcinomas, and squamous cell carcinomas of the colon and rectum are covered by this staging system. Appendiceal carcinomas, anal carcinomas, and well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoids) are not covered by this staging system. (from AJCC 8th Ed.)
