**Definition:** A term that refers to the staging of AIDS-related Kaposi sarcoma according to the AIDS Clinical Trials Group system. The latter incorporates the extent of tumor (T), the status of the immune system (I), as measured by the number of CD4 cells present in the blood, and the extent of involvement within the body or systemic illness (S). Under each major heading, there are 2 subgroups: either a 0 (good risk) or a 1 (poor risk) group. (American Cancer Society)
