The consensus sequence for this high-affinity androgen receptor-binding is the palindromic sequence GGT/AACAnnnTGTTCT, though could deviate considerably in natural promoter sequences. The most well-characterized in this regard is the promoter of the PSA (prostate-specific antigen) gene.
