TCR-specific, alpha Fetoprotein-enhanced Autologous T Lymphocytes
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of human autologous T-lymphocytes transduced with a viral vector encoding for a T-cell receptor (TCR) specific for human alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), with potential antineoplastic activity. Following administration, the TCR-specific, alpha fetoprotein-enhanced autologous T-lymphocytes recognize and bind to AFP antigen-positive cells, which results in lysis and killing of AFP-positive cancer cells. AFP is overexpressed in a variety of cancers.
**Synonyms:** - AFP-C332 CTLs - AFP-C332 T Cells - AFPC332 - Anti-AFP TCR-expressing Autologous CTLs - Autologous Genetically Modified AFPC332 T Cells - Autologous Genetically Modified AFPC332 T-cells
