Fascia Adherens

**Definition:** Fascia adherens, similar to a zonula adherens, is a half Z line found in the cardiac muscle as one of the three intercalated disks. They anchor actin filaments from terminal sarcomeres and transmit contractile force between myocytes. (NCI)
