Autologous E6 T Cell Receptor Genetically-modified T Cells

**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A preparation of human autologous peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) that have been genetically engineered to express a T-cell receptor (TCR) that specifically targets the viral oncoprotein human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16) E6, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, the HPV E6 TCR genetically-modified T-cells target and bind to HPV-16 E6-expressing tumor cells, which leads to specific cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL)-mediated killing of HPV-16 E6-positive tumor cells. HPV-16 E6, a cell surface glycoprotein, plays a key role in the tumorigenesis of various HPV-associated tumors and is absent from healthy human tissues.

**Synonyms:** - Autologous Anti-HPV-16 E6 TCR T Cells - Autologous E6 TCR T Cells - Autologous E6 TCR T-cells - Autologous HPV-16 E6 TCR T Cells
