Phosphorylated-STAT3 Y705

**Semantic type:** Amino Acid, Peptide, or Protein

**Definition:** A post-translationally modified form of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) where the tyrosine (Y; Tyr) at residue 705 is phosphorylated. Janus kinase (JAK)-mediated phosphorylation of Y705 activates STAT3 and promotes the formation of STAT3-containing dimers, which translocate into the nucleus and induce STAT3-dependent gene expression.

**Synonyms:** - Phospho-STAT3 Y705 - Phosphorylated STAT3 Y705 - Phosphorylated-Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 Y705 - STAT3 (Phospho-Tyr705) - STAT3 (pY705) - STAT3 Phosphorylated on Tyr705 - STAT3 pY705 - pY-STAT3
