Lutetium Lu 177-NeoB
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A radioconjugate consisting of the gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) antagonist, NeoB, linked via the chelating agent, dodecanetetraacetic acid (DOTA), to the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium Lu 177, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, lutetium Lu 177 NeoB targets and binds to GRPRs present on certain tumor cells. Upon binding and internalization, this radioconjugate specifically delivers a cytotoxic dose of beta radiation to GRPR-expressing cells. GRPR, also known as bombesin receptor subtype 2, is a G protein-coupled receptor that is overexpressed in some cancer types.
**Synonyms:** - 177Lu-NeoB - Lutetium 177-NeoB - Lutetium Lu 177 DOTA-NeoBOMB1 - [177Lu]-NeoB
