**Definition:** A categorization of coronary artery dissections based on angiographic assessment that was developed by the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Classification ranges from types A and B, which are generally clinically benign, through types C through F, which have clinically significant morbidity and mortality if untreated.
