Lutetium Lu-177 Rituximab

**Definition:** A radioconjugate composed of rituximab, a recombinant chimeric murine/human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) antibody directed against the CD20 antigen, conjugated to the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium Lu 177, with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration, the rituximab moiety targets and binds to CD20 expressed on tumor cells and delivers a cytotoxic dose of beta radiation to CD20-expressing cells. CD20 is expressed on the surface of pre-B and mature B-lymphocytes and is overexpressed in a variety of B-cell malignancies.
