Adenylate Cyclase

**Definition:** Adenylyl cyclases are membrane-associated enzymes of the lyase class that are expressed in most human tissues. These enzymes catalyze the formation of cyclic AMP and pyrophosphate from ATP and are regulated by a family of G protein-coupled receptors, protein kinases, and calcium.
