Extensor Hallucis Brevis Muscle

**Definition:** A muscle on the dorsal side of the foot that helps to extend the big toe. It originates on the superior surface of the anterior calcaneus and inserts into the dorsal surface of the base of the proximal phalanx of the big toe. It is innervated by the deep fibular nerve and supplied by the dorsalis pedis artery.
