Health Disparity Populations

**Semantic type:** Population Group

**Definition:** Populations that include racial/ethnic minorities, low socioeconomic status, sexual minorities, the disabled, those living in rural or disadvantaged locations, and/or others subject to discrimination or the disparity type, who have poorer health outcomes often attributed to being socially disadvantaged, which results in being underserved in the full spectrum of health care.
