Methylation Beta Value

**Definition:** An estimate for the level of DNA methylation in a set of samples that is calculated as the ratio of average signal intensities for methylated alleles (M) divided by the average signal intensities of M plus unmethylated alleles (U), such that beta (b) equals M/(M+U). Beta values must fall between zero and one.
