Miricorilant
**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** An orally bioavailable, selective glucocorticoid receptor (GR) mixed agonist/antagonist and mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist, with potential metabolic regulating and hepatoprotective activities. Upon oral administration, miricorilant selectively targets and binds to GRs, thereby modulating the effects of cortisol-mediated GR pathways, and binds to and inhibits the activity of MR. This improves lipid efflux from the liver, reduces liver fat content (LFC) and lipid levels, reduces liver inflammation, reduces liver injury and fibrosis, improves insulin sensitivity and resistance, and prevents weight gain.
**Synonyms:** - CORT 118335 - CORT-118335 - CORT118335 - MIRICORILANT
