Ejection Systolic Heart Murmur

**Definition:** A heart murmur that occurs predominantly in midsystole, when ejection volume and velocity of blood flow are at their maximum; it is produced by ejection of blood into the pulmonary artery and aorta. It is typically crescendo-decrescendo.
