Allogeneic Adipose-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A preparation of culture expanded human allogeneic adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), that can potentially be used to restore the function of the salivary gland tissue. Upon intra-glandular administration of the allogeneic adipose-derived MSCs, these MSCs are pluripotent and capable of differentiating into functional cells of salivary tissues. This may help heal and restore the function of these glands that are damaged by chemo- and/or radio-therapy. This may reduce symptoms of hyposalivation and xerostomia.

**Synonyms:** - Allogeneic Adipose-derived MSCs - Allogeneic Adipose-derived Stem/Stromal Cells - Allogeneic Mesenchymal Stem/Stromal Cells
