**Definition:** A method that is used to determine microbial susceptibility to antibiotics by evaluating the extent of growth of several dilutions of a standardized inoculum of microorganism in drug-free and drug-containing agar mediums. The number of colony-forming units grown are compared and expressed as a percentage.
