Autologous UCD19 CAR T Cells
**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A preparation of autologous peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) that have been transduced with a lentiviral vector to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the tumor-associated antigen (TAA) CD19, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon transfusion, the autologous UCD19 CAR T-cells recognize and bind to CD19-expressing tumor cells, thereby selectively lysing CD19-expressing tumor cells. CD19, a B-cell-specific cell surface antigen is overexpressed in B-cell lineage malignancies.
**Synonyms:** - Autologous UCD19-CAR T-lymphocytes
