Zorecimeran
**Semantic type:** Nucleic Acid, Nucleoside, or Nucleotide|Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A vaccine consisting of a lipid nanoparticle (LNP) encapsulating a messenger RNA (mRNA) encoding the full-length spike (S) protein of severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), with potential immunizing activity against SARS-CoV-2. Upon intramuscular administration of zorecimeran, the LNP binds to the plasma membrane of cells and releases the mRNA into the cells. The mRNA is then translated by ribosomes to produce the SARS-CoV-2 S protein. This may activate both humoral and cellular immune responses which may result in protection against SARS-CoV-2 infection. S-protein, usually found on the surface of SARS-CoV-2, plays an essential role in the infection pathway of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
