Anti-CD4 CAR T-cells

**Semantic type:** Cell|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A preparation of T-lymphocytes that have been genetically modified and transduced with a lentiviral vector expressing a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting the tumor-associated antigen (TAA) CD4 and containing, as of yet undisclosed co-stimulatory signaling domains, with potential immunostimulating and antineoplastic activities. Upon administration, anti-CD4 CAR T-cells target and bind to CD4-expressing tumor cells, thereby inducing selective toxicity in CD4-expressing tumor cells. CD4 antigen is expressed in CD4-positive T cell lymphomas.

**Synonyms:** - CD4 CAR T Cells - CD4-specific CAR T Cells
