**Semantic type:** Pharmacologic Substance
**Definition:** A synthetic small molecule thermogenic regulator, that may potentially be used for the treatment of Dercum's Disease lipomas. Although the exact mechanisms(s) through which this agent exerts its effects have yet to be fully elucidated, upon subcutaneous injection into lipomas, utenpanium chloride activates thermogenesis in subcutaneous fat, turning fat into heat. This may lead to fat cell death and the shrinkage of fat tissue.
