Lutetium Lu 177-DOTA-ABM-5G

**Semantic type:** Indicator, Reagent, or Diagnostic Aid|Pharmacologic Substance

**Definition:** A radioconjugate composed of 5G, an integrin alphaVbeta6 (aVb6)-targeting peptide, conjugated, via the bifunctional, macrocyclic chelating agent 1,4,7,10-tetra-azacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetra-acetic acid (DOTA) to the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium Lu 177, and an albumin-binding moiety (ABM), with potential antineoplastic activity. Upon administration of lutetium Lu 177-DOTA-ABM-5G, the 5G moiety selectively targets and binds to integrin aVb6-expressing tumor cells. Upon binding, aVb6-expressing tumor cells are destroyed by 177Lu through the specific delivery of beta particle radiation. This agent also binds to serum albumin with its albumin-binding moiety, which increases the agent's half-life and decreases its rate of clearance. Integrin aVb6, a cell adhesion and signaling receptor, is upregulated in certain cancer cell types and has been associated with increased proliferation, migration and invasion of tumor cells.

**Synonyms:** - [177Lu]-DOTA-ABM-5G
